Amanda Gourgue, Chief Meeting Revolutionist aka "Owner"
Amanda has more than twenty years of experience within the hospitality and nonprofit industries. She has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Hotel/Restaurant-Institutional Management from Johnson & Wales University, a Master’s of Business Administration degree with a focus in Sustainability from Antioch University New England and a Masters of Environmental Law and Policy from Vermont Law School. She is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP). Amanda has the honor of being the first CMP in the world to receive a LEED AP.
She has consulted, presented, and written articles in the areas of marketing, corporate responsibility, healthy buildings and event planning. In addition, she served on several committees to help create the APEX/ASTM Environmentally Sustainable Meeting Standards and the ISO 20121 Event Sustainability Management System Standards. Amanda also served as a judge for the IMEX-GMIC Green Awards for eight years.
Erika Erkel, Community Engagement Director
Erika Erkel has over 12 years of experience in the event/sales world. She has a philanthropic background that led her into major events from large-scaled entertainment-based events to golf tournaments to private events to weddings to non-profit fundraisers. She has an adventurous heart and a deep passion for experiencing life to the fullest through new settings and lifestyles that she has come across in all her travels. Erika has had the pleasure of living in many beautiful places, whether it’s on the beautiful West Coast of the United States, the historical cobblestones Italy or stunning beaches of Australia and to the final place she calls home, in the colorful music city, Nashville. As a graduate of California State University - Chico has since explored opportunities where it allowed her adventurous personality and her passion to help others and the world, to take her to cities in which potential for career growth was seemingly limitless. Each experience has allowed her to hone in on her skillset in sales, client management, brand awareness, consumer loyalty and event management.
Alexandra Evans, Art Director/Graphic Designer
Alexandra Evans has over ten years experience working within the design industry after completing a degree in Graphic Communication (Hons) at The Atrium, Glamorgan University. After graduating in 2009, Alex cut her teeth at several print houses, gaining both valuable experience and a passion for all things printed. Fast forward eight years and having worked in a variety of in-house design departments, Alex now specializes in bringing a consistent visual brand to life throughout all aspects of her clients' touch points from their social media memes through to their printed marketing, ensuring that their message speaks clearly to their audience.
Monique Forbes Dickerson, Event Director
Monique holds a Masters Degree in Hospitality and Tourism / Event and Meeting Management from George Washington University and a second Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Counseling from Eastern Michigan University. She earned her Bachelors from Western Michigan University in Social Psychology. For over 20 years Monique has played many different roles in managing events working with a wide range of industries and industry leaders. Her work in Hospitality and Meeting Management has led her to planning events across the globe. Her passion is working on events that are focused on diversity, health, and education. Monique currently lives just south of Atlanta, GA with her husband and two children.
Kristy George, Content Writer/Editor
Kristy George is a longtime journalist and writer, penning blogs for local newspapers and magazines for her local community. She brings a diverse set of skills to the position, including more than 20 years as a communications and marketing professional. A previous communications director at the Eastern Shore Land Conservancy, a conservation nonprofit, Kristy has also served as the former Executive Director for a local childcare nonprofit and for the front office of Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Kristy is active in several community initiatives in her community including the Mid-Shore Character Counts! program and local Little League. Kristy earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Salisbury University and is working toward a Master of Science degree from the University of Maryland. She lives on Maryland’s Eastern Shore with her husband, Kevin and two sons. She also owns a small photography studio and travel planning business.
Viv Kugler, Social Media Director
Viv Kugler is a seasoned digital media marketer with industry experience in hospitality, entertainment, and education. She is passionate about helping small businesses establish their branding and voice on digital platforms so that they can reach their target audiences in innovative ways. She completed her undergrad at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign with a Bachelor's in creative writing and then went on to earn a Master's in integrated marketing communications from Roosevelt University.
David Muller, Sustainability Director
David Muller is a professional consultant focusing on sustainability, operations, communications, and marketing. For the past 10 years, David has worked with a wide range of organizations in and around the global sports and events industry, helping organizations and events conceive, implement, and powerfully communicate their commitments and actions on sustainability and social impact. He served as in-house Sustainability Consultant to the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games, an event that brought over 100,000 visitors to Seattle over the course of 11 days, with various events occurring at eight different venues in the Seattle metro area. Working with his project partner and the Games' Director of Volunteers and sustainability, David designed the Games’ Sustainability Strategy, as well as producing a Sustainability Impact Report and Legacy Playbook & Toolkit (all firsts for the Special Olympics USA Games) applicable to future organizers of the Special Olympics as well as a wide range of other events. As the original Membership Director for the Green Sports Alliance, David was the primary advisor to its broad network of team, venue, event, and league/conference members in the conception, implementation, expansion, and marketing of their respective sustainability programs. Under his direction, Alliance membership grew from 25 members in October 2011 to nearly 400 in May 2016, with a 98% annual renewal rate. David currently serves on the Leadership Team of the Sustainable Event Alliance, and as a Founding Board member of Sport and Sustainability International. He also recently completed a three-year term on the Oregon Environmental Council’s Emerging Leaders Board. David earned his MBA in Sustainable Business from Presidio Graduate School, his BA in Religious Studies from Lewis and Clark College, and LEED Green Associate certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
Serena Poulin, Multitasking Master
Serena Poulin is a Keene State College student focusing on a political science major with a minor in financial economics with plans to graduate in 2023. She is passionate about helping others and developing within her educational field. As multitasking master, Serena provides support to help things run smoothly and stay organized.
